We build a personalized Vitality Roadmap
Available at our Scripps Ranch clinic or virtually across California, the Vitality Assessment is designed as an annual program, not a one-off, so your health becomes a trajectory you can see, not a snapshot you forget.

What is a Vitality Assessment?
A Vitality Assessment is a comprehensive look at the factors that can influence how well you feel, function, and age.
Rather than focusing on a single symptom or isolated lab result, Daydream MD brings together information about your medical history, nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, cognition, mental health, hormonal health, cardiovascular risk, quality of life, metabolic markers, and body composition.
Our functional medicine team then reviews the full picture and creates your personalized Vitality Roadmap, a clear set of evidence-informed priorities and recommendations designed to support sustainable improvements in your health and performance.
The goal is not simply to think about how long you live. It is to support your healthspan: the years you spend with strength, vitality, cognitive sharpness, mobility, and independence.

Who the Vitality Assessment is Built for
The Vitality Assessment is an optimization program, built for San Diego adults who feel generally well and want to sharpen what's already working. We're often the right fit if you're looking for support with:
Reduced appetite and improved fullness cues
Lower inflammation (linked to conditions such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and metabolic syndromes)
Emotional regulation and improved reward processing
If you're currently under a specialist's care for a chronic condition, or you're searching for a diagnosis for symptoms that haven't yet been explained, Daydream MD may not be the right home for that need right now.
We're an optimization practice, not structured to diagnose complex or undiagnosed conditions — those deserve a dedicated functional or specialty practice with the time and depth to do that work justice.
We'd rather tell you this up front than have you invest in the wrong kind of care. If it's helpful, we're glad to point you toward San Diego practices who specialize in this, and we're here if your goals change down the road.
The Six Pillars of Vitality
Every Vitality Assessment is built around the six systems that shape how you age. Together, they give your physician a complete picture, not a single lab value in isolation.
Heart and Circulation
the engine behind your energy and long-term resilience.
Metabolic Health
how efficiently your body manages fuel, weight, and inflammation
Strength and Frame
the muscle, bone, and composition that carry you through every decade
Mind and Mood
ognitive sharpness and emotional steadiness, considered together
Sleep and Recovery
the foundation your body relies on to repair and restore itself
Hormonal Health
the chemistry behind your energy, drive, and healthy aging

- Medical history

The evaluation typically takes 45–60 minutes and can be saved and completed over time.

Metabolic lab testing
Your laboratory results help provide objective context for your metabolic health and other areas relevant to your personalized assessment.
DEXA scan
Your DEXA scan adds body composition data to your overall health picture, helping the team evaluate your baseline alongside your health history and laboratory results.
Personalized Vitality Roadmap
Once your evaluation, labs, and DEXA results are complete, our functional medicine team brings everything together.
You will receive a personalized Vitality Roadmap outlining your most important health priorities and evidence-informed recommendations for supporting energy, metabolic health, cognitive performance, resilience, and healthy aging.

What Happens After Your Vitality Assessment
Your Vitality Roadmap will land in one of three places,
We treat it.
If a finding is in our wheelhouse, metabolic health, hormones, sleep, mental health, we care for it here, with your concierge nurse and physician beside you. We name the finding, explain why it matters, and walk the plan through with you.
We point you to the right door.
If it belongs with a specialist, your Roadmap names who to see and why, and helps you get there. We won't stretch to manage what someone else manages better, so you leave with a clear path, never a dead end.
You're clear.
A clean result is the goal, not a missed sale. We set your baseline and see you next year, and next year's assessment shows the trend: strength holding, metabolic health improving, heart risk staying low. Health becomes something you can watch move in the right direction.
Our promise: We only recommend a treatment when a specific finding calls for it.
When Another Type of Care May Be a Better Fit
If you are currently working with a specialist for a chronic condition or seeking a diagnosis for symptoms that have not yet been explained, a dedicated specialty or diagnostic practice may be a better starting point.
Daydream MD’s Vitality Assessment is built around health optimization, rather than diagnosing complex or undiagnosed medical conditions.
We believe you deserve the type of care that best fits your needs. If our model is not the right match, our team may be able to point you toward another type of practice, and if your goals change in the future, Daydream MD is here.

Vitality Assessment FAQs
What is a Vitality Assessment?
It's a physician-reviewed longevity assessment offered in San Diego, combining advanced fasting labs, a DEXA scan, and a dedicated hour with a concierge nurse to build your personalized Vitality Roadmap across six pillars: heart and circulation, metabolic health, strength and frame, mind and mood, sleep and recovery, and hormonal health.
Who is the Vitality Assessment for?
It's built for generally healthy, high-functioning San Diego adults who want to optimize energy, hormones, metabolism, and performance — including those interested in weight management, GLP-1 therapy, or hormone therapy such as TRT, HRT, or perimenopause and menopause care.
Is this the same as a functional medicine evaluation?
The Vitality Assessment uses a whole-person perspective, but its primary purpose is health and performance optimization. It's not intended to serve as a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for complex, chronic, or unexplained medical conditions.
If diagnosing an unresolved health issue is your primary goal, a specialty or dedicated diagnostic practice may be more appropriate.
Is the Vitality Assessment able to diagnose a medical condition?
No. Daydream MD is an optimization practice, not structured to diagnose complex or undiagnosed conditions. If you're currently under a specialist's care for a chronic condition, or searching for a diagnosis, we'll help point you toward a San Diego practice built for that work.
How long does the Vitality Assessment process take?
Your Comprehensive Health and Lifestyle Evaluation typically takes 45–60 minutes to complete, followed by a 60-minute virtual Health and Longevity Review. After your metabolic labs and DEXA scan are completed and received, the Daydream MD team synthesizes your information and delivers your Vitality Roadmap securely within a few weeks.
Do I have to visit San Diego in person for the Vitality Assessment?
Your intake and nurse review can be completed virtually from anywhere in California, though metabolic labs and your DEXA scan are completed in person at our Scripps Ranch, San Diego location.
What happens after I receive my Vitality Roadmap?
Your Roadmap lands in one of three places: we treat findings that fall within our scope, we point you to the right specialist for anything outside it, or you leave with a clean baseline and see us again next year. We only recommend a treatment when a specific finding calls for it.
What testing is included in the Vitality Assessment?
The process incorporates a metabolic laboratory panel and DEXA scan alongside your comprehensive health and lifestyle evaluation and 60-minute Health and Longevity Review.
What is a DEXA scan?
A DEXA scan provides objective information about body composition. Daydream MD considers this data alongside your laboratory results, health history, lifestyle, and goals when creating your Vitality Roadmap.
What is a Vitality Roadmap?
Your Vitality Roadmap is an individualized summary of your health priorities and evidence-informed recommendations. It is designed to help you understand where meaningful opportunities for improvement may exist and which next steps deserve consideration.
Can the assessment help with hormone optimization?
Hormonal health is one of the areas the assessment can explore. Depending on your results and goals, your roadmap may identify whether a dedicated women’s or men’s hormone consultation would be an appropriate next step.
Can the assessment help if I’m considering a GLP-1 medication?
Yes. Weight and metabolic health are key areas the Vitality Assessment can explore. Your results may help provide additional context for a conversation about GLP-1 metabolic optimization when clinically appropriate.
Is the Vitality Assessment a diagnostic service?
No. The assessment is designed for health optimization rather than diagnosing complex or unexplained medical conditions. If you are seeking a diagnosis or currently require specialty management for a chronic condition, another type of practice may be better suited to that need.
How much does the Vitality Assessment cost?
The introductory investment is $995, compared with the regular price of $1,295.
Do I need to continue care with Daydream MD afterward?
No. Your Vitality Roadmap can serve as a foundation for future care with Daydream MD or for conversations with your existing healthcare team. If your results and goals point toward additional services, we will explain your options before recommending a next step.

Your best decades are still ahead. Let's build the roadmap to get you there.
